An Update from Our Executive Director

Dear Parents/Guardians, club members, our Board of Directors, and staff, I hope that you and your families are well and keeping safe during these unprecedented times for the world, country, province, City of Toronto, and East Scarborough.

All on-site programs and services at the Club continue to be suspended in alignment with National efforts to eradicate COVID-19 across Canada, and the global community. We continue to uphold strict social distancing, and enhanced sanitization protocols in the efforts to reduce the chance of spreading COVID-19 pandemic virus amongst our staff providing emergency food access and hygiene services to the local community we continue to serve.

We realize these are challenging times and we are committed to providing our community with the necessary supports. As such, our staff have been diligently at work developing and delivering virtual programs and activities to provide our members and the community with engaging and interactive activities. Our phenomenal team is also working very hard to source and deliver educational resources, art kits, STEM kits, and board games to local children, youth, and families on a weekly basis. Please sign up for our bi-weekly newsletter for updates on Emergency Services and offers of interest by using this link. You can also keep in touch daily through our social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook).

We are also working with the City and other key community partners to address and support the increase of local food insecurity faced at this time. Our team has been working daily to provide weekly deliveries of family meal kits as well as hot meals to those most vulnerable in our community.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and our Club’s staff team, please know that the safety and wellbeing of each and every member of our BGCES family is paramount during this time. We will continue to work to provide for our families and the community of East Scarborough.
